HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Daniel began selling gigs on Fiverr and though it took some time, his income moved from $100 to $500, and then eventually to the point where he was making a decent income online. This was around the time he stumbled on Liam James Kay’s YouTube channel which focuses solely on affiliate Marketing.
Hold on, let’s talk about Affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is a performance-based marketing strategy where a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate’s marketing efforts. In simpler terms, affiliates promote a product or service and earn a commission for every sale, click, or lead generated through their unique affiliate link.
Say, James owns a shoe-selling business and sells each shoe for $50. But then offers to give you $10 for every sale he makes through your marketing efforts. You decide to post some of the shoes on your social media, buy one shoe, and display some of its features to your best friends. Soon a couple of people buy. Congratulations, you are an affiliate marketer.
Anyway, Daniel stumbled on affiliate marketing and began giving it a go. Later, he decided to document his journey on a YouTube channel called Daniels Hustle. Which he grew to over 270,000 subscribers.
Daniel is a living example of how anyone can earn a living using the internet. And his strategy can be broken down broadly into Freelancing on Fiverr, Affiliate Marketing, Online course sales, and YouTubing. We will break these down in the coming chapters of this video.
Fiverr:
This has already been fairly explained already. But Daniel went on to make his first $11,000 as a freelancer on Fiverr. In Nigeria, that is life-changing money. With current exchange rates, that is over 20 million naira. Enough to live a truly luxurious life in the country. Dan decided to teach what he learned on Fiverr on YouTube.
YouTube:
He had spent some time surfing YouTube and realized that some things he knew about making money on Fiverr were not on YouTube. So he decided to create tutorials sharing his knowledge. The videos did well, and just like that, YouTube became a second source of income for him. The channel grew earning him a decent-sized following. Anyway, as Daniel’s YouTube channel grew, so also did the possibility of monetizing them through another vehicle.
ONLINE COURSE SALES:
Daniel started off by selling a Fiverr course, which I bought, which was super helpful to me at the time. Daniel has gone on to sell multiple courses. Maybe up to 5 at this point. I am aware of two other affiliate marketing courses aside from the Fiverr course he sells. The good thing with online course sales is that you only need to create the product once, and then sell it over and over again to multiple people.
Again, you do not need paid traffic to get eyeballs on your product, and most importantly, your leads are already warmed up. These are your followers who already know, like and trust you. This makes sales easier. A lot easier.
Affiliate Marketing:
This is a major source of Daniel’s income I would assume. His YouTube channel was majorly centred on affiliate marketing and he had some really detailed affiliate marketing courses with proof. According to him, he has multiple blogs in different niches, targets low-competition keywords, and promotes affiliate products in those articles. This is a popular strategy. One also used by Greg Gottfried who has amassed a fortune off of affiliate marketing sites using wix.com.
Anyway, affiliate marketing is great. If done right, requires some upfront time or money investment, and then rewards later, lots of rewards later. If you have time, write the articles yourself. If you have money, hire someone on Fiverr to write the articles for you. Target keywords you can rank for, and promote products that are as relevant as possible to readers of the content.
A good example would be. If your article is about health and fitness. Then it makes sense to promote reputable health supplements, or gym/fitness equipment, clothes, or even home workout courses. The closer the product to the topic of the article the greater your conversion.
OTHER INCOME SOURCES
I know that Daniel has mentioned in his videos that he has made some money from cryptocurrencies, and also has invested in real estate. But I would not dwell too much on these just because real estate takes a long time before one can reliably bring in monthly cash flow, and crypto is quite unpredictable in my opinion, you can tell me your thoughts in the comments. I’m sure he made some money from these, but I would guess nothing compared to what he consistently makes from YouTube, course sales, and affiliate marketing. I do not think he does Fiverr anymore.
Conclusion
Of the sources of online income discussed in this video used by Daniel, the most stable in my opinion are affiliate marketing websites and YouTube. Even though Daniel lost his main YouTube channel, he has multiple channels. There is a way to create, own, and operate one or multiple YouTube channels without ever showing your face and that method is called YouTube automation.
This is the method that big dogs like Alux.com and Matt Parr used to make it on YouTube. If you want to learn how this works, and probably make some money from it, we have created a piece on that for you, and we suggest you read it next. That said, see you next time.
